It is time for Nevadans to give Harry Reid the Boot and kick him out of Washington DC. Harry Reid no longer is a serious advocate for Nevada, if in fact he ever was. He represents special interests, not us ordinary everyday Nevadans. Following are my top five reasons for giving Harry the Boot.
1. During the period of the Iraq war just prior to the surge, Harry Reid raised the white flag of surrender, boldly declaring “The Iraq War is lost”. From my point of view, this was tantamount to giving aid and comfort to the enemy and was I’m quite sure music to Al Quada’s and Iran’s ears. One has to wonder just how many recruits the Jihadists were able gain based on Senator Reid’s declaration of surrender? Harry Reid was wrong in his proclamation as the surge worked and combat in Iraq is winding down. Harry Reid is not only bad for Nevada he is bad for the country. We need to give Harry Reid the Boot!
2. Harry Reid killed the plan to build two clean coal fired plants in White Pine county Nevada. White Pine is an economically stressed area of the state, and these plants would have brought much needed capital and jobs to White Pine county. In addition a transmission power line would have been built from the plants in White Pine to Las Vegas, bringing in additional capital and jobs. But Harry Reid said “NO” to new jobs in a stressed Nevada county. Instead he suggests that “Green” energy should be pursued. Why does Harry make this decision? Because those plants would emit CO2, the same CO2 that people exhale every day as we breathe. Harry is no scientist, and so this decision was based on the heavily political belief that humans are heating the atmosphere by emitting too much CO2. Since Harry is as I’ve said no scientist, his decision to oppose and ultimately kill these plants was based on nothing more than faith in a severely flawed scientific proposal. Not only would those plants provide jobs for White Pine, they would have provided affordable electrical energy to Southern Nevada. Harry Reid’s proposals for “Green” power will result in much higher power bills for Southern Nevada, since the so called “Green” energy is much more expensive than that produced by clean coal technologies, and “cap and trade” will increase costs of conventional energy. Instead of representing every day Nevadans Harry Reid represents the radical environmental groups, who care nothing about Nevadans, and are not concerned that those on fixed incomes will likely be sweating in the dark because they cannot afford electricity costs. Harry Reid does not represent the interests of Nevadans and we need to give him the Boot!
3. Although Harry Reid is not good for Nevada, Nevada has been very good to Harry Reid. Harry Reid is listed as in the top 31 richest Senators. Harry has made millions on what can only be called shady land deals. Nevadans need to give good Ole’ Harry the Boot!
4. Harry Reid humiliated himself and by extension Nevadans by creating a phony controversy essentially a lie concerning a talk show host Rush Limbaugh. Reid sent a phony letter of condemnation to Limbaugh, which Limbaugh turned around and auctioned on eBay for over $2 Million the proceeds of which were donated to the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation. Reid was completely outmaneuvered by a simple talk show host, and apparently didn’t get it as he tried to take credit for the donation. I found this disgusting and a stain on the State. For lying and gross incompetence we need to give Harry the Boot!
5. Harry Reid thinks us little people literally stink. In 2004 I took my family on a trip to Washington DC, our first visit there. Before going we contacted Reid’s office in hopes of getting a tour of the Capitol Building. He ignored the request, so we contacted Senator John Ensign’s office. Senator Ensign was gracious and more than happy to help us out. We know now exactly why Reid refused our request, it’s because Harry Reid thinks that Nevadan tourists along with all other tourists “literally smell”. It is hard to imagine the utter arrogance of this man; he doesn’t seem to understand that that he is supposed to represent the people of Nevada, not the other way around. Frankly I think Harry Reid is the one who stinks, he reeks of arrogance and Nevadans need to give Harry a good hard Boot out of our – the people’s Capitol Building!
